Sri Ramakrishna (1836 – 1886) was born in Kamarpukur, a small village in West Bengal. He spent his adult life ardently worshipping Ma Bhavatarini Kali at the Dakshineswar Temple in Kolkata. His spiritual realizations made him see God in everything. God is One. People call on the same God who appears in various forms and names.
Sri Ramakrishna lived in this room in the Dakshineswar Kali temple compound for 15 years.
